In the summer of 2000, best friends Elias and Benjamin are full of excitement and anticipation. Life in the multicultural neighborhoods of Holmlia, Oslo, is spent flirting with girls, going to the beach, and playing soccer. But half a year later, on the night of January 26th, 2001, the two are viciously attacked by a group of neo-Nazis outside Benjamin’s family home. While Elias manages to flee, Benjamin, only fifteen years old, is brutally murdered simply because of the color of his skin.

The series follows Elias, his friends and their families before and after the devastating murder. With warmth, realism, and humor, this true and inspiring story reveals how tragedy can ultimately bring a fractured community closer together. Despite having lost Benjamin forever, they found a newfound unity, a strong bond they would know simply as “Holmlia Love”.
