16-year-old Shaï, Djeneba, Aladi and Ismaël have grown up surrounded by the four towers flanking the Place des Fêtes, a vast square in a working-class Parisian neighborhood of the same name where they spend hours on end talking, hanging out and playing “Would you rather,” a pastime that consists of choosing between two alternatives in an absurd, no-win situation. The game allows the four teens to explore existential questions without getting too serious. And to gradually mature and develop their own voice, come hell or high water.
